We’re a Grimsby-based trance brand built around one fairly simple idea: put good DJs in a room, give them the time and space to play properly, and build something that people genuinely want to be part of.
Our focus is firmly on trance, but not one narrow interpretation of it. We cover the melodic and uplifting side of the genre as comfortably as we do the faster, tougher and more driving end, with line-ups designed to move through different sounds rather than simply stacking DJs together who all do the same thing.
A big part of Captivated is our resident and local talent. They are not there simply to fill the early slots before the guests arrive. The DJs around the brand form an important part of our identity, alongside producers and selectors from the wider UK trance scene.
That approach has seen us connect local DJs with artists associated with labels including FSOE, Borderline, Rated Records, Extrema Global and Nocturnal Knights, while still retaining the grassroots feel at the centre of what we do.
There is also a strong sense of place behind the brand. Based around Grimsby and Cleethorpes, we want to help give trance a proper home in a part of the country that can easily be overlooked when electronic music events are concentrated around the larger cities.
More than anything, Captivated is about the people around us. DJs who genuinely care about the music, a crowd that knows why they are there, and an atmosphere that feels much closer to a community getting together than a faceless club promotion.
No unnecessary hype. No obsession with putting the biggest possible name at the top of a poster.
