Trance has been a huge part of my life for years, and I've always had a particular love for the music that helped shape the scene, especially the records that made the late 90s and early 2000s such a special time for trance.
I'm one of the founding members of Trance Addicts, a community built around a shared passion for the music, the people and everything that makes the trance scene what it is. What started as a way of bringing like-minded people together has grown into a community of DJs, producers and music lovers, with our own events giving us the opportunity to take that passion beyond the online world and onto the dancefloor.
Vinyl is a massive part of what I do. There's something about digging through records, finding tracks you've not heard for years and mixing them on turntables that never gets old. It's not simply about nostalgia either. There is so much brilliant trance music out there, and I enjoy finding opportunities to bring some of those records back to people's attention.
That passion is behind my long-running Vinyl Thursday streams on Twitch, where I play classic trance exclusively on vinyl. Over the years, those sessions have become a regular part of my DJing, alongside my TranceAddicts Sunday sets and occasional themed shows where I like to experiment with different ways of selecting music.
I've also had the opportunity to play at Trance Addicts events, including TA3 and Trance Addicts Undead, bringing the music I've spent so many hours collecting and playing at home to a live audience.
For me, DJing has always been about the records, the mixing and sharing music with people who appreciate it. Whether it's a forgotten remix, an old favourite or something unexpected from the collection, I still get the same enjoyment from putting together a set as I always have.
And as long as there are good records to discover, I'll keep digging.
